Description

This year's Carnet Croix-Rouge celebrates 160 years of the Red Cross. The stamps represent key moments in the history of the French Red Cross: TP 1: Its creation in 1864 TP 2: Help during the flooding of the Seine in 1910. This was the first "major" natural disaster managed by the Crf. The Crf's disaster risk management activities were to prove their worth many times over. TP 3: 1914 - First World War: 68,000 mobilized nurses intervened to support civilians, marking a new milestone in their support of the population. TP 4: 1940 - deployment of the Rétablissement des Liens Familiaux (RLF) program for prisoners of war. This took the form of managing and supervising the sending of parcels and/or letters to prisoners of war. TP 5: 1947 - Childcare professions - marks the launch of the French Red Cross' early childhood training activities. TP 6: October 1956 - Homecare and EHPAD retirement homes: the launch of activities that are now firmly rooted in the local area. These activities are carried out both by volunteers (in social action) and by employees (in health and social establishments). TP 7: 1977 - the 1,000,000th first-aider trained in lifesaving techniques. TP 8: 1984 - Marauding activity begins. TP 9: 1997 - First social grocery stores. TP 10: 1864-2024 160 years of the French Red Cross.
