Booklet - 80 years of the Mazelin Ceres - Salon philatélique de printemps 2025

Description

A 2-sheet booklet commemorating the 80th anniversary of the 1945 Mazelin Ceres stamp will be issued during the 2025 spring philatelic show. Mazelin's design, inspired by the first French Cérès stamp of 1849, was of great finesse, but the letterpress printing of the stamps was disappointing. 8 stamps were issued between 1945 and 1947 (plus one with overprint), including 5 values in 1945. Issued at face values corresponding to the lower postage rates, they were withdrawn from sale between 1946 and 1949.
