Description
"Is it better to pass to posterity or to inherit at the post office? Before leaving us on February 9, 1975, from a lack of savoir-vivre, Pierre Dac asked himself this question. La Poste has provided the answer with a tribute stamp to the "king of the zany" and the Resistance fighter who, in London, became one of the "French who spoke to the French". Born on August 15, 1893 in Châlons-en-Champagne, André Isaac began by pursuing his studies, but failed to catch up. Mobilized in 1914, he spent four years at the front, where he was wounded twice. In October 1922, he made his debut as a chansonnier, inventing a form of absurdism that would inspire Pierre Desproges, Coluche, Le Gorafi and many others. In 1935, he became the pioneer of humor shows with La Société des Loufoques and La Course au Trésor. On May 13, 1938, he founded L'Os à moelle, a weekly with sales of 400,000 copies. He published the first "classified ads". In 1940, determined to join the Free French, he spent eighteen months in Spanish prisons before joining Radio Londres, where he wrote numerous songs and editorials against the occupying forces. "Bagatelle sur un tombeau", in which he responds to Philippe Henriot, is studied in schools. In 1947, he invented the "Schmilblick", then met Francis Blanche. They signed and performed Le Sâr Rabindranath Duval and Signé Furax, the most listened-to soap operas in radio history. From 1966, Bons baisers de partout, with Louis Rognoni, was also a hit. Finally, in 1972, he published his Pensées. They have been passed down through the generations, demonstrating that nothing that is finished is ever completely finished, as long as everything begun is not completely finished. Jacques Pessis
