Japan hosted its first World Expo in Osaka in 1970. Fifty-five years later, this 36th edition will be held again in Osaka, from April 13 to October 13, 2025, on the island of Yumeshima. It brings together 160 countries around the theme "Designing the society of the future, imagining our life of tomorrow".
France, whose history is marked by Universal Exhibitions, is taking part in this global event to promote French boldness and know-how in the cultural, scientific and economic fields.
In the "Inspiring Lives" zone, the French Pavilion is a hymn to love. Ideally located at the entrance to the Expo, the France Pavilion's singular architecture will take visitors by surprise. Its fully draped side facades evoke a theatrical stage, while its monumental staircase unfurls like a ribbon, echoing the red thread of love that weaves its fabric. It is an invitation to explore the permanent exhibition, conceived as a vast immersive journey, a love of France, illustrated by its landscapes, its art, its know-how...
Through its architecture, scenography and programming, the Pavillon France is a showcase for the French model of innovation. It promotes a competitive, sustainable, low-carbon economy, strengthening the country's international appeal. It showcases a world in which love - of oneself, of others, of nature - is an original response to the social and environmental crises afflicting humanity.

Le Japon accueillait sa première Exposition universelle à Osaka en 1970. Cinquante-cinq ans plus tard, cette 36e édition se tient à nouveau à Osaka, du 13 avril au 13 octobre 2025, sur l’île de Yumeshima. Elle rassemble 160 pays autour du thème « Concevoir la société du futur, imaginer notre vie de demain ».
La France, dont l’histoire est marquée par les Expositions universelles, est présente à ce rendez-vous mondial pour promouvoir l’audace et le savoir-faire français dans les domaines culturel, scientifique et économique.
Elle propose au public, au sein de la zone « Inspirer des vies », un Pavillon qui incarne un hymne à l’amour. Idéalement situé à l’entrée de l’Exposition, le Pavillon France surprend grâce à son architecture singulière. Ses façades latérales entièrement drapées évoquent une scène de théâtre, tandis que son escalier monumental se déroule tel un ruban, en écho au fil rouge de l’amour qui lui sert de trame. Il constitue une invitation à explorer l’exposition permanente, conçue comme une grande traversée immersive, un amour de la France, illustré par ses paysages, son art, ses savoir-faire...
À travers son architecture, sa scénographie, sa programmation, le Pavillon France est une vitrine du modèle français d’innovation. Il promeut une économie compétitive, durable, bas-carbone, renforçant l’attractivité du pays à l’international. Il donne à voir un monde dans lequel l’amour – de soi, des autres, de la nature – est une réponse originale face aux crises sociales et environnementales qui frappent notre humanité.
