Description
To mark the 150th anniversary of the postcard in France, La Poste is reissuing 10 cards illustrating the golden age of the postcard (i.e. up to the 1920s) with a stamp used at the time on the reverse, making them ready to mail and travel as pre-stamped cards at the international rate. Produced in very large numbers, the Bergeret card owes its name to its creator Albert Bergeret (1859-1932), a card publisher since 1896. Although his production (5,600 different cards in millions of copies) revolved around photographic cards, it was in the field of humorous "fantasy" that he made his name, from 1901 to 1908.
